My Favorite Thing
Okay, so with my theme “Create” for 2011, one thing I’ve been working on is creating new hairstyles, to break out of pulling my hair up in a ponytail almost every day. And for Christmas, one gift I received was these awesome (Pink!) hot curlers, which I loooove using now! My new favorite thing is having some awesome curls!
Eeeeee! My hair never looks like that, and it’s so cool! I finally can have curls like Whitney and Shari, it’s so exciting!

Foundation For A Better Life
Ever heard of this organization? I absolutely Love them, they do such amazing things worldwide. They do food drives for third world countries and write “GoodNews Letters” about amazing things happening all around the world. My favorite part of their organization though is their “Pass it On” billboards and commercials. They advertise good morals like honesty and integrity. How awesome is that?
Here is their latest commercial:
How cool that they work so hard to promote something so good. If you want to check out their website, its: http://www.values.com/ .

So You Think You Can Dance
Ever seen the show? It’s awesome! Lately, I’ve had the song “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles stuck in my head, and they did an amazing dance to it a few seasons ago. They guy looks so evil in it, don’t you think? It’s so intense!
By the way, it’s about addiction, which I think makes it all the more intense. So cool!
Oh, my other Sara Bareilles song I’m just in love with is “King of Anything” This one has a much happier beat to it :)

An Oceanside Sunset
On Tuesday night, Dad, Shari, Mike, Emily, Neil and I were all able to go to Oceanside and watch the sunset which was sooo beautiful!
I was able to get some pictures down on the shore while Dad and I were waiting for the others.
This one is my favorite :)
I don’t know who the couple down on the shore in this picture were, but I think they made the picture especially cute.
After Shari and Mike and Neil and Emily got there we went up on the pier.
The boys :)
This picture of Shari turned out sooo cool!
I like all the cute lamps that go all the way down the pier.
After taking some pictures, we went to Ruby’s Diner for dinner, which was on the pier and surrounded by windows so we could see out to the ocean. It was really cool and the food was delicious! It was such a cute little diner!
It was such a fun night and I loved getting to play with my new camera and hang out with the Satkos and Robisons.

Into the Unknown
Well, what a roller coaster this last semester has been. I started out with marching band as section leader and three AP classes, which fibromyalgia ended all too abruptly. Mid-semester I switched into an independent study program, which is still AP but now I only have two classes. In general, it’s still been very difficult. Switching out of school was a huge transition, that really, no one ever heard about. To my teachers and friends, I was there one day and gone the next. It was a hard transition getting to be with friends 24/7 to being by myself almost all day every day. It was hard being lonely.
Now, the new semester begins, and I have no idea what to expect. I’m not sure if I will be allowed to stay in the independent study program I’m in, and there are still so many variables that are unknown. What happens with college, music auditions, getting caught up with semester one, finding a way to start semester two? All I can know is that thee Lord has a plan for me. He has a way that everything will be okay, even though so much feels wrong. I can trust that even if things don’t work out the way I planned, they will happen exactly the way they are supposed to.

Picture of the Day
I was going through my pictures last night and thought this one was really cool. Plus Whitney looks so pretty! Is there anything better than an ocean sunset? Aaaahhhh.

Oh Baby…
So yesterday, Mom, Dad, and I went to Chick-fil-A for lunch. In case you’ve never been there, it’s one of the most delicious places ever! Well, after eating, Mom and Dad went upstairs to take a nap, and I naively left my Peppermint milkshake on the kitchen table and left to clean my room.
After a few minutes I heard a rattling noise from downstairs, and noticed Baby was being far too quiet to be doing anything good. So I grabbed my camera and snuck downstairs to see what mess she had made.
There she was, perched on the kitchen table…
Eating my milkshake! The little stinkpot! Immediately she knew she was in trouble and curled up, trying to look cute…
Crazy little dog! She was too cute to be mad at though… and she really enjoyed the milkshake.

Getting Caught Up
I know this was so long ago but I never got a chance to write about Thanksgiving or Christmas for 2010. Thanksgiving was sooo much fun; Shari and Mike were able to come down for the week and we went shopping and went to the zoo and ate dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Yum! Through the week, since a lot of us were sick we rested a lot too.
One of the days everyone was taking a nap…
This was at first.
Then Baby and Murri rearranged themselves…
And Brawny snuggled up with Mom…
Cute little fellow!
The day we went to the zoo and Cheesecake Factory was sooo fun! The zoo wasn’t very crowded and seeing all the little baby animals was so exciting.
And after the zoo, we went to Cheesecake Factory! It had a ridiculously huge menu and all the food looked soooo delish!
Having Shari and Mike here for Thanksgiving was so much fun! And just a couple weeks later Whitney and Spencer came for Christmas!
The whole Christmas season came a bit late it felt this year, probably because everyone was sick for so long. But the few days when Whitney and Spencer and Sister Blake were able to be here was a lot of fun and we played lots of games and went to Disneyland!
We were at Disneyland and California Adventures for most the day on Christmas Eve so we were all pretty tired when we got home and opened our CE present (jammies!)
And of course, later on Christmas day we had to take our traditional Christmas presents picture
which Whitney gladly joined in on.
She was so pleased. :D
Oh, and of course we had our annual Hide and Seek game this year too! Spencer won hiding on the kitchen counter (all the lights were off at the time, it wasn’t this light)
The other major highlight was our arm wrestling matches. Just in case you were wondering, I beat Whitney :D
Having the family over to visit this year was sooooo much fun and we created some amazing memories!

2011 Begins!
Aaaahhh the New Year is here with a fresh start! A time for new starts, new opportunities and new goals! So, just like Whitney (if you’ve seen her blog yet) I do one word mottos each year as a theme for the year. 2011’s motto I changed a few times but I think I have it perfect this time. This year’s theme is
Create!
With so many adventures (like college!) ahead for 2011, I have a lot of things I need to learn how to do, and I really want to focus on creating more. Creating tangible items (like being able to cook, sew exc.), helping to create more opportunities for service, creating more meaningful music, and creating my own unique ideas to help others as well as myself.
I’m so excited for this year and for all the wonderful events that I will be able to experience.
Also, to kick off the New Year, I redecorated my room! My mom found this AMAZING black and white bed spread that I fell in love with, and I’m adding pink accents to the room to give it some color. Here’s what it looks like so far.
I’m still using the same pictures but switched them to black frames (I looove black and pink!)
This is a close-up of my new bedspread. Isn’t the pattern cute?
I love my new room! With that, have a fabulous 2011!!!

2010 Memories
Wow, 2011 is here already! 2010 was such a great year with so many amazing things that happened!
A small list of 2010….
1. I got my Drivers License!
2. We were able to have several visits from Whitney and Spencer and Shari and Mike (and Murri) this year, which was always sooo much fun!
3. I was honored to be selected as Flute Section Leader at VMHS
(Next to me is Cristian, the assistant clarinet section leader, who is so awesome!)
4. Baby joined our family and made herself at home immediately
5. I was accepted to BYU Idaho and anxiously waiting to hear from BYU!!!
And as a final hoorah to 2010, I went to the Stake Youth New Years Eve dance last night.
(As Julia and I are on the Stake Youth Counsel, we prepared 350 cupcakes to serve as refreshments at the dance the day before. Here’s our handy work.)
The night began at Julia’s house with pizza from Little Caesar's. Yum! It was soooo delicious! Once we finished our yummy pizza, me, Ashlyn, Julia, and Allie all got ready to go to the dance together. We all got ready pretty fast so with our leftover time we played Apples to Apples. (*Julia won!)
Once we arrived at the dance it was already pretty crowded, but it was sooo much fun! Cameron and Allie were totally amazing salsa dancers! We ate a lot of food and got to watch James and Julia dance together, which was too cute!
Later in the evening, I made two new friends, Justin and Eddie. They were both from the Hemet Stake and were such great dancers and were really funny. Justin was a total sweetie and asked me to dance like, three times. He was so nice!
After the dance, I came home and wished Mom and Dad (who were already all tuckered out) a Happy New Year and went to bed.
